Whether you're visiting from out-of-town or a local resident, the Beach Rose Cafe is a fine option for breakfast or lunch in Wickford. The coffees are very good and there are typically a few daily lunch specials to choose from. On nice days, it's also a treat to sit out on the patio overlooking the harbor. Service is quick and friendly.

Had lunch here a few weeks ago based on reviews and outside seating. I decided to enjoy my lunch on the deck overlooking the boats in the harbor. Lobster roll was good and certainly satisfied my craving. Vast menu looks good so I will return. My only complaint was limited seating because there were so many people there! I'd also love to see more vegetarian options on the menu but all in all a good spot in Wickford.

Cozy little cafe right off of the Wickford Harbor. It was a pleasure finding the Beach Rose through the Yelp app after taking a stroll at the local nature reserve. My husband and I were hungry and could use a caffeine jolt before heading out to an afternoon of shopping. When we walked in we were greeted by a friendly girl at the counter. The menu is full of fresh sandwiches, tasty burgers, seafood specials, and of course, coffee drinks of different sorts. I ordered the veggie and hummus wrap and my hubby, the buffalo chicken wrap. We both ordered a coffee drink as well. My large iced coffee was very large, not that I"m complaining. Our wraps were quite good and the view out the windows over the harbor was quite stunning. I can't wait to hang out on the patio once it warms up. The service was very friendly, the food tasty, and the coffee was surprisingly good. I will definitely be returning to the Beach Rose to try their breakfast sandwiches and maybe some of their other wraps.

I will admit I was disappointed to learn breakfast on a Sunday ended before 11 a.m. They did offer egg sandwiches to our party and the sandwiches were good (albeit small). Coffee was quite good (particularly their iced flavor of the day). We really enjoyed sitting out on the deck and taking in the sounds of the cove. It's a charming little place where everyone is friendly. I'll be back (before 11)

I have stopped in a couple times for a quick lunch while wandering around Wickford. Both times, I got a chicken Caesar Wrap. I hold high standards for this food item. Since it is so easy to make, people can be very lazy and just give you a total disaster, or do it properly, and give you something incredibly delicious. I was pretty impressed with what I ate there. House made croutons gave it quite a crunch. The chicken was seasoned well and not cooked/heated to the temperature of scalding. Such a simple mistake can just ruin the whole wrap. Crunchy lettuce and nice salty dressing, (not too much either, so it over powers everything). I had one with wheat, then tried their tomato-basil wrap. I'm a fan of the tomato-basil. I love that it is light, but still filling. Exactly how I feel a Chicken Caesar wrap should be. They have these house made chips, which are tasty, but remind me of kettle cooked potato chips. I would probably like the chips more, if I liked kettle cooked. Also, nothing special about their coffee. But, if I'm hanging about Wickford, I'm certainly getting my lunch there. I docked them one star for an occasion I dropped by at about 2PM. They are open til 4, yet they told me the place was closed. Why? I do not know. I was just told the place was closed and that was that.

I ordered a lobster roll (not a lobster salad roll). It was good, but not worth $17. My wife had a lobster salad and liked it...$12. Fries were average; I'm sure they were frozen. The clam cakes were nothing great...mostly dough. I was impressed though by the young gals working. They seemed organized and hard working. Overall, average, high-priced, but nice location and atmosphere for a casual bite to eat.

While scooting around Wickford I stumbled upon this adorable cafe with an extra large menu filled with yummy sounding sandies and salads. I ordered a veggie wrap at one end of the counter and retrieved it at the other and brought my late afternoon outside to eat on the deck overlooking Wickford Harbor. PERFECTION! My super fresh veggie & hummus wrap was delightful and hit the spot. I'm not sure if I'll end up shopping in Wickford and need a little bite or stop in Beach Rose Cafe just for a sandie on the way to the beach first but regardless, I'll be back!

I ate lunch here today for the first time and I really enjoyed it. The place itself was nothing fancy ( i prefer these types to fancy anyway) the girl working was very nice, I ordered the cranberry chicken salad wrap and it was delicious. What I really liked though was the homemade chips! Wow is all I can say, I have never had anything like them..some of the best chips I have ever had. I think the prices were sort of high considering they were a little skimpy with the chicken salad, but other then that I have no complaints. I will definitely go back again, especially when the weather gets nicer and I can enjoy the views of the water.

Love Beach Rose! Great iced coffee, gorgeous view, and delicious food. It's a great place to visit when you want to spend a day exploring Wickford. Highly recommended!

As Brown Street crosses Academy Cove (had to Google map that one!) and Wickford Harbor, you'll come upon one of the more tastier and fun eating establishments in Downtown Wickford, The Beach Rose. The Beach Rose is what every waterside cafe in the area should be; a big deck facing the harbor which is a prime-time area for people watching in the summer, a varied menu for both breakfast and lunch and a nice selection of beer and wine too! Everything I've tried so far is definitely above average, from the chowder to the lobster roll to basic breakfast staples, I haven't had a bad meal here! And while this place is a hot spot come the summer, I'm actually a fan of coming here in the winter for some breakfast/brunch action on the weekends! The outdoor deck is dog friendly and the staff here is really friendly and fast. Bummer that the breakfast menu ends at 11am on the weekends, but the Beach Rose will continue to get my love and business! And how freaking cool are those red lobster buzzer thingies they give you when you have to wait for your food!? ha

If you're going to come here plan on spending a little extra time in line. Employees to this establishment are more interested in talking on their cell phones, and amongst themselves than helping customers . If you get the chowder. It's just doctored up right out of the can nothing special. The only thing this place has going for it is the view of Wickford harbor. Other than that I wouldn't waste your time.

Beautiful setting in Wickford harbor. Food is good, they offer a large variety to choose from. prices are good and the service is pretty good too!

Went to The Beach Rose twice during a recent visit to Wickford, once for lunch and once for breakfast both times the food was good and so was value. Staff was friendly and service was good. Would go back.

Quaint village of North Kingstown offers up a great cafe--homey community feel with well prepared, reasonably priced food. Breakfast sandwich tasty and quick option, with a plethora of yummy sounding coffee options.

Pretty disappointed with Beach Rose. Slow, unfriendly service. Limited deck seating, and the table that was available came with the "wipe it down yourself" option. The iced chai latte was a super syrupy packaged mix. After a long wait in line and longer wait for food, I was expecting it to be worth the wait - and it simply wasn't. If you're looking for a breakfast spot do yourself a favor and go across the street to Wickford Diner.

The atmosphere is what keeps me coming back. Great deck with a beautiful view of the water. The food and the coffee is good too. Always friendly and fast service. One of my favorite cafés for the summer in RI.

We have eaten here a few times before, and the food is decent, in fact it's pretty good. The menu is better than adequate, and the prices are fair. The location is quaint and convenient, and the outdoor seating on the dock is enjoyable. Why then a two star rating? Because their service is atrocious. Every time we go in it seems like we are bothering them, but each time the food is decent enough and the location convenient enough that we look past it and figure "just kids at a summer job." This time though we have had it. We came on a Sunday afternoon and, after settling my two kids, both under 3, at an outdoor table with my wife I went in to order. It was 2:59. I walked in and perused the menu, stood there for a minute or so, all while the folks behind the counter worked - then I got the attention of one of them, and before they could even say hello I was received with "we're closed." "Really" I asked "yes we close at 3," she responded. "It's 3:01, I've been standing here for 2 minutes deciding what to order" I said, "what were you looking for" she asked, "a couple of sandwiches" I say "Yah sorry we're closed, it's been a long day" Holy sheep. What kind of business owner is responsible for the consistently anti-customer nonsense that these folks have learned is OK? The kind that will be hungry this winter when all the Wickford tourists have gone away and all they have left is their loyal base - which will not include us.

Reasonably priced for food that's well prepared and tasty. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap, which came with chips and a few slices of pickle. The chips looked like they could have been made on the premises, but I didn't ask. Heck, we'd just come back from kayaking and just wanted to eat. We'd wandered in and out of a few places before choosing this one. The interior is nothing special, but they do have outdoor seating. The Buffalo sauce could have been a bit spicier for my taste, but most people will probably find it acceptable. They do have hot sauces off to the side for people like me. All in all, I will be back.

I found out about this place in the RI monthly magazine and was excited to try it out. It's a bit small inside but cute. Great outdoor deck that you can definitely take advantage of when the warmer weather comes around. Food and drinks were good, can't complain about that. Best of all, the area in which it is located in, is great for walking around , local shopping, or just enjoying the day!

Great location in the heart of Wickford Village. I bet lunch is great - the board on the wall is full of all sorts of interesting wraps and sandwiches. I wanted to check this place out for breakfast - to get a jump on the day before all of the little stores nearby opened (most at 10am). Not too many options for breakfast and it is really standard fare. Had a breakfast sandwich - bacon, egg, and cheese on an English muffin with a side of potatoes. Nothing special and totally bland potatoes. I probably wouldn't go back for breakfast but I'd definitely try it for lunch. I have gotten take-out of their clam chowder and it is delicious.

I've been to the Beach Rose Cafe many times over the past few years - and the food has been consistently good and fairly priced. I usually get sandwiches to go and have never had any complaints except that the cashiers are sometimes a bit snotty - don't know the reason for this - maybe they just don't like to work on a summer day which is usually when I'm in this lovely section of Wickford. The thing for me that shines about the Beach Rose Cafe is their breakfast. I had the most wonderful breakfast here recently - two eggs over medium (perfectly cooked) hash browns (delicious) and bacon (thick, crispy and as good as bacon gets.) The coffee was good too, but at the time I went they didn't have either soy or almond milk (aren't I the fussy one) and I don't like the taste of milk or cream in my coffee (weird, huh?). But I will use one of the two if I have to, it just doesn't make me happy. If you time it right, you might even find the actor, James Woods, having breakfast or lunch here. I have run into him at various locations in RI - he's a RI native and I even went to high school with him - not that I'm bragging about any of this - I totally disagree with him politically on just about everything - just sayin', you might see him there!! I'm glad the Beach Rose Cafe is in Wickford - there are just not that many restaurants there - a small handful at the most. This place has two entrances - the back door opens to an outside deck that sits over the water (Wickford Cove) and it's lovely out there in the summertime if it''s not too hot out. So I'm giving them four stars - it's a pretty good little place and if the lady at the cash register would lighten up, I might have given them five stars. :-)

I am quick to judge my sandwich shops and coffee spots. So when you combine the two together, I am on high alert about how many stars the joint will be getting. The Beach Rose Cafe got my approval for several reasons. 1) they have beer on tap, local beer, awesome. 2) the customer service was pretty top notch 3) I really enjoyed my sandwich (turkey Gouda tomato lettuce) while sitting out on the deck overlooking the harbor. I didn't venture into getting a caffeinated beverage that day, so I will be back to further investigate the quality. Needless to say the Beach Rose Cafe is a great spot to stop and grab a sammie and enjoy the day.

Great location - big menu - good staff in the kitchen - lady at the cashier a little rough: I may speak with an accent but I understand well sister and I know what is a lobster roll so what is the difference between a lobster roll sandwich and a lobster salad sandwich? Still don't know except the later is more expensive! Overall nice but expensive!!!

Food was excellent, service was pleasant and friendly. Prices were a little steep IMO but well advertised so it's up to the consumer if they want to pay the requested costs. The fried potato chips might be the tastiest thing accompanying a sandwich I've ever eaten...way better than kettle chips or french fries. For this alone, I'd definitely come back. Location is friendly and scenic.

7/13/13: Decided to try it again... just as bad as last year... this time we were treated indifferently by the staff and when the latte came it was less than 1/3rd full... when we asked for it to be topped up, we didn't even get so much as an apology... the cup was taken and handed back without a word... Honestly, I don't know why people give this place good reviews and I have no idea why they keep coming back... staggering... Previous review: The staff are super friendly and that is the most positive thing we can think of to say. The standards of hygiene are so low we are amazed it hasn't been closed down. When we visited there was only one other table seated and no line for service, while the tables, chairs and floors were sticky, filthy and covered in food debris. We don't normally enjoy eating from paper plates and plastic cutlery, but given the circumstances this was probably a good thing!!!! The food was unadventurous; too much lettuce and a dry bun with the lobster roll... Lobster tasted bland too - no attempt at seasoning. The upside was you could exchange the fries for salad. The 'Tims hash' was really boring with no seasoning at all - no imagination. The piece-de-resistance was when a customer dropped a cup of coffee on the floor and the chef emerged from the kitchen with a bucket and mop that was so filthy it was difficult to identify the original color of the bucket... I glanced in the kitchen and wished I hadn't - it was pretty dirty too :-( This cafe has a great location on the water and there are not a lot of places to eat here, so it doesn't have much competition. It is very popular with tourists and locals so am presuming the clientele have strong stomachs and low standards. I just hope the owners read this and put a cleaning regime in place... They have plenty of staff but no-one appears to be accountable for cleanliness and hygiene standards...

Wish I could give a better review, but they wouldn't even serve me a coffee ten minutes before they even closed.

I treasure this place because they make a good effort at being healthy, and they still make things themselves. Their chowder, made in-house, is delish. Their guacamole, not so much - but at least they're trying! Didn't have the same experience as Audrey R. - I paid $17 something for a bowl of chowder, clam cakes, a burger, chips and two bottles of water. Maybe she got the fish and chips coated in diamonds, I don't know. Anyway the staff is really nice, the food fresh and good, the selections many and the view pretty nice. A great lunch stop! P.S. Also yes, the tables are slate and drawing on them is pretty entertaining. :-)

The food is spot on. The staff on the other hand is the worst I have ever dealt with. The girl who was covered in tattoo's who took my order at the counter had no patience, and seemed to care less that I was even there. Not once did she smile or even say thank you for our patronage. There's plenty of other sandwich shops I can go to where people are actually nice to you. Management you need to train your staff how to deal with the public.

Anyone who reads my reviews knows that 5 stars barely ever happens. Loved this place we visited today for the first time. Location is prime and fun, overlooking the water with a small bridge and lots of ducks, its adorable. Everyone outside enjoying the sun, adjacent shop owners visit this place so you know its good. Girls/Owner are personable, genuine, and accomodating. There was a misunderstanding over my salad and they more than made up for it, they are truely good business people.

My husband just returned from our first visit to Wickford, RI. We decided to get some clam cakes and chowder and sit outside. We waited 20 minutes so I finally went up to check on our order. The clam cakes were sitting there but no chowder. I asked the server about the chowder and she said it was almost ready. She then preceded to go into the kitchen and take the bowl out of the microwave! I could see clearly into the kitchen from the pickup area. I thought I was in Wickford, not at a fast food restaurant. The clam cakes were so heavy and over fried--absolutely the worst I have eaten. The chowder was very watery, almost like a broth and not much else. Horrible.

  • Carol V.

Tasty food. Clam chowder is perhaps my favorite in all of RI. Gets really crowded during lunch, and I've downgraded my stars rating from five to four because the last 4 times I've been the folks behind the counter have been unnaturally unpleasant. At least the salads and sandwiches are consistently good.

This is probably my favorite restaurant in Wickford. Beach Rose Cafe has great casual seaside ambiance, with both indoor and outdoor seating. The food is a bit of a New England take on contemporary California Cuisine crossed with traditional New England seaside favorites. Overall Beach Rose does a nice job putting it all together. My biggest gripe are the restaurants hours, I never know what their hours are. Some times they are open evenings, others not.

  • Robin B.

The Beach Rose is one if those places that is wonderful in the summer with it's outside deck overlooking beautiful Wickford Harbour and cozy in the colder months when the tourists are gone, it's a bit quieter and it's warmth and friendliness really comes through. This is the quintessential New England casual lunch and dinner place so don't expect waiter service or exotic food. But if you want a great burger, fish and chips or terrific home made chowder, it us hard to beat this little gem.

  • Audrey R.

The Beach Rose Cafe is right on the water. You can sit inside if you've had enough sun, or on a deck that overlooks the harbor. It is good for beach food, but it is expensive! I paid $19 for fish and chips, coffee and a side salad. The fish was excellent. It was a thick cut of what tasted like cod and was very crispy. Unfortunately, their homemade tartar sauce was truly disgusting. It was overpoweringly sweet and bright yellow. This ruined the meal for me, and I would not order the fish and chips there again. At least the decor is nifty. The tabletops are made of slate and are stocked with chalk so you can draw on them.
